NaCF 2024: Chemistry Competition – National Scientific Paper Competition

The National Chemistry Fair (NaCF) is an annual event organized by the UNY Chemistry Student Association. This activity consists of two main events, namely the national seminar and the Chemistry Competition, CeC. The series of NaCF 2024 activities opened with the Scientific Writing Competition (LKTI) which is a competition event for SMA/MA/SMK and equivalent students and national-level students. This program aims to hone the abilities of SMA/SMK/MA students and college students in identifying problems regarding the importance of empowering renewable energy sources to create environmental stability and developing the latest innovations to empower the potential of renewable energy sources to realize sustainable development.

The theme raised in this year's LKTI is "The Role of the Young Generation in Handling the Energy Crisis as an Effort to Develop Renewable Energy to Realize Sustainable Development Goals 7". The sub-themes that can be studied include the fields of environment, renewable energy, education, technology, and health. In general, student and student LKTI activities are carried out in three stages, namely abstract selection, full paper selection, and finally the presentation round. The selection process was carried out by involving experienced FMIPA lecturers from multidisciplinary fields, such as Dr. Dyah Purwaningsih, S.Sc., M.Sc., Dra. Cornelia Budimarwanti, M.Sc. and Yunilia Nur Pratiwi, S. Pd., M. Pd. (Department of Chemistry Education), Wipsar Sunu Brams Dwandaru, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. and Khafidh Nur Aziz, S.Si., M.Sc. (Department of Physics Education), and Dita Puji Rahayu, S. Pd., M. Pd. (Department of Science and Education).

The registration and abstract collection period opens in September 2023 and closes on January 13, 2024. A total of 178 abstracts from the SMA/MA/SMK level and 150 abstracts from the student level collected in two waves of registration are ready to compete in the next stage. The selection results of the jury decided on the 50 best abstracts at each level who had the opportunity to send full papers of their creative ideas with a completion period of one month. After going through a strict selection process on several aspects including writing logic, originality of ideas, contemporary solutions and applications, methodology, and so on, the top 12 best works were selected who will compete again through work presentations in front of the jury on March 8, 2024. Awarding of LKTI winners was carried out in conjunction with the National Chemistry Seminar which was held the following day.
