On Friday, October 20 2023, a thanksgiving activity was held to commemorate the 67th Anniversary of the UNY Department of Chemistry Education. The event was coordinated by HIMA Kimia and the Department of Chemistry Education. The entire academic community took part in the event, including lecturers, deans, educational staff in departments, student representatives from each class and retired lecturers. Several retired lecturers who were willing to attend this occasion included Mrs. Siti Sulastri (Analytical Chemistry), Mr. Sutiman (Chemical Education), Mrs. Eddy Sulistyowati (Biochemistry), and Mrs. Endang Dwi Siswani (Chemical Engineering).

In his speech, the Dean of FMIPA UNY, Mr. Prof. Dr. Dadan Rosana, expressed congratulations and hoped that the UNY chemistry education department would progress further, both from an academic and non-academic perspective. Apart from that, along with the increase in the number of study programs in the Department of Chemistry, the Faculty hopes that all components will contribute to providing lectures, practicums and research for students. On that occasion, the head of the Department of Chemical Education, Mr. Sutiman, conveyed the history of the founding of the Department of Chemical Education. He is proud of the achievements that the Department of Chemistry Education has achieved, and hopes that it will be even better in the future.
