On Saturday, May 24, 2025, a training on creating High-Order Thinking (HOTS) questions integrated with Chemical Literacy was held for chemistry teachers in Yogyakarta in Meeting Room 3, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Yogyakarta State University. This activity was the first phase of a series of community service (PPM) activities for Professor Assignments by the team of Prof. Dr. Endang Widjajanti L.F.X., M.S. and colleagues. The training on creating High-Order Thinking (HOTS) questions integrated with Chemical Literacy proceeded smoothly and dynamically, with 40 participants from Yogyakarta and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The training materials were delivered by resource persons: Prof. Dr. Endang Widjajanti L.F.X., M.S., Dr. Das Salirawati, M.Si., Dra. Ratnawati, M.Sc., and Dra. Rr. Lis Permana Sari, M.Si. as a mentor for the workshop on compiling High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions. Participants actively participated in the training session with discussions and presentations of HOTS chemistry prototype assignments integrated with chemical literacy. The results of the activity evaluation questionnaire, all participants stated (1) this activity increased understanding of literacy and numerical abilities in chemistry learning, (2) this training activity improved your skills in compiling High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) chemistry questions. Participants also stated the need for mentoring as a follow-up to the training in the next stage.
