Visiting Professor: Muhd Ibrahim Muhamad Damanhuri

Wednesday, November 4, 2020, the Chemistry Education Study Program carried out the Visiting Professor activity. The purpose of implementing visiting professor activities is to improve the quality of lectures, increase international insight for students and lecturers, and open opportunities for cooperation. This time, the chemistry education study program invited Dr. Muhd Ibrahim Muhamad Damanhuri from Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia. He is an expertise in chemistry, with research interest in chemistry education, evaluation, and learning strategies.

On this occasion, he provided learning evaluation material for students of the chemistry education study program, with the title of the topic of learning: development of two-tier diagnostic tests. The discussion topics consisted of the application of diagnostic tests in learning, the basis of objectives, and the development of two tier diagnostic tests. Based on his explanation, the principle of question development must pay attention to several things, such as: clear stem and answer, meaning that the sentence is made effectively, efficiently, concisely, and does not have multiple interpretations. The active participation of students in this lecture activity shows their enthusiasm in studying the material provided by Dr. Ibrahim. Hopefully, this activity can provide learning motivation for students and insight into broad learning opportunities.
