UNY HOSPITAL MEETING OF CHEMISTRY IN INDONESIA

FMIPA Yogyakarta State University was appointed to hold a Workshop on Equalization of Chemistry Education Curriculum. The event, organized by the Indonesian Chemical Society Chemical Education Division (HKI) in collaboration with the Department of Chemical Education, FMIPA UNY, was held on Friday-Saturday, 16-17 / 3 in the FMIPA courtroom. Present on the occasion, the Dean of FMIPA, Dr. Hartono, Chair of HKI, Prof. Dr. Harno Dwi Pranowo, and Chair of the Division of Chemistry Education, Dr. Suyanta and Chair of the Department of Chemistry Education FMIPA, Dr. Jaslin Ikhsan.

In his speech the Dean of FMIPA UNY said, this was an important meeting because it would produce a curriculum that would later become our agreement for educational study programs. Hopefully the decision can benefit all of our students. The curriculum that we agreed on together must later be easily applied so that it can be accepted throughout Indonesia. This is because of the diversity of universities with their individual characteristics. "In each study program, there will be demands to have a specialty. Our university policy, accepting while looking at the certificates generated from competencies that are not linear with their fields. Everything we accommodate from the internal. And while this has been created is chemical batik ", he explained.

The Chairperson of IPR, Harno Dwi Pranowo, explained that the current development seems we cannot dam. Every development is not to be opposed but to be utilized. I still use social media that will help us complement existing courses or content. "We are at the university level where research is also difficult in implementation. How do we have a method for combining our supporting subjects (chemistry, mathematics, physics, biology). I see that standing alone is not a supporter. Even though chemists can play dice, it's not specific to what we need, "he explained. The curriculum could actually be the same, the content is the same, which we can distinguish in examples of its application. It seems we ourselves started to entrust them to give examples. Otherwise each one plays alone. Putting this together is not very easy because the effect is not only us but others.
Meanwhile, Suyanta said, the three parts that became our claim were curriculum, publications, as well as research and community service. This is our future work plan among our work plan programs. One of them that is still our claim is the curriculum.

Our meeting continues the curriculum discussion that we started last year. May we get a chemistry education curriculum solution that is our common goal. (witono)
