Prof. Dr. Eli Rohaeti, M.Si. and Prof. Dr. Sri Handayani, M.Si. was inagurated as a Professor on July 25, 2020. Inauguration activities were held in the Auditorium UNY regard to the COVID-19 health protocol.

Prof. Dr. Eli Rohaeti, M.Si became Professor in Polymer Chemistry, at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at UNY. In her inaugural speech, she was delivered about the development of polymer materials based on local natural resources to support the development of environmentally friendly polymer chemistry. Polymer chemistry become her expertise after completing the Chemistry Education Bachelor program at IKIP Bandung 1993. At the Bandung Institute of Technology she completed master's program in physical chemistry, and doctoral program in the field of Mathematics and Natural Sciences / Chemistry. Various studies,  papers, and books that she has produced, related to the field of polymer chemistry.

In contrast to Prof. Dr. Eli Rohaeti, M.Si., Organic Chemistry Synthesis becomes the expertise field of Prof. Dr. Sri Handayani, M.Si. as a Professor. She completed herbachelor, master and doctoral programs at Gadjah Mada University in the field of Chemistry. In his inaugural speech, she  was delivered about developing organic synthesis and  its potential as an active compound: towards a green economy. She has produced various studies and papers related to the field of organic chemistry. With the inauguration of Prof. Dr. Eli Rohaeti, M.Si. and Prof. Dr. Sri Handayani, M.Si., Department of Chemistry Education FMIPA UNY has 10 professors. Hopefully it can make the Department of Chemistry Education FMIPA UNY become excellent and be able to compete globally.
