OPENING OF THE 67TH DIES NATALIS OF THE UNY CHEMISTRY EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

On September 22 2023, HIMA Kimia FMIPA UNY held an official opening ceremony for the 67th Anniversary of the Department of Chemistry Education, FMIPA UNY. On this occasion a healthy walk was carried out which was followed by competitions between classes of the UNY Chemistry Education Department.

 

As is already known, the FMIPA UNY Chemistry Education Study Program is one of the Study Programs under the Department of Chemistry Education. At first. The Department of Chemistry Education is a B-1 Chemistry course which was opened on October 22 1956. In 1961, B-1 chemistry was changed to the Chemistry Department of FKIP/B Gadjah Mada University. With the establishment of IKIP Yogyakarta State on May 21 1964, the Chemistry Department of FKIP/B UGM merged into IKIP Yogyakarta under the Teaching Faculty of Exact Sciences (FKIE) with the name of the Department of Chemistry. Since 1980, FKIE changed to FPMIPA (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education), and the Department of Chemistry changed to the Department of Chemistry Education (Jurdik Kimia) which manages the Chemistry Education Study Program at undergraduate and diploma levels. In 1997, the Department of Chemistry was given an expanded mandate to open an undergraduate chemistry study program. Currently, the Department of Chemistry Education FMIPA UNY manages 4 study programs, namely Bachelor of Chemistry, Bachelor of Chemistry Education, Master of Chemistry Education and Doctor of Chemistry Education.
