Thursday, December 3, 2020, a General Lecture was held which presented speakers from PT. Chandra Asri, Mrs. Ani Oktavia Lestari, S.Si. She is a Corporate Management Office Department Manager of PT. Chandra Asri. This General Lecture was held for Chemistry Education Department students who were relevant to the Industrial Chemistry Course. Based on the material presented by Mrs. Ani Oktavia Lestari, S.Si., there are many challenges that must be faced by the chemical industry at this time, some of which are regarding regulation, customer, community, and containment costs. This challenge will be controlled with the support of operational excellence, competent people, safety and health, a management system so that it can produce maximum, safe, and environmentally friendly production.

What if it is viewed from an educational perspective? Students as prospective teachers, and lecturers who guide student learning activities, as well as educational institutions, play a role in producing competent people. Industry expects college graduates to have soft skills called I STAR values, namely Integrity, Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect, and hard skills for chemists or analysts who have qualified skills on lab analysis, lab equipment reliability, lab uncertainty analysis, Lab Quality management, and Lab safety.

Through the General Lecture activities, it is an encouragement for students and institutions whose hope is that educational institutions can produce graduates who have good soft skills and hard skills so that they can work well.
