Congratulations! Silver Medal for Chemistry Education Department Students at the 2021 IICYMS Competition

International Invention Competition for Young Moslem Scientists (IICYMS 2021), held on 1–4 July 2021. IICYMS 2021 is an international scientific work competition organized by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association in collaboration with the State Islamic University of Sunan Gunung Djati, Bandung. This year, IICYMS was attended by 155 teams from 13 countries, namely Indonesia, Turkey, Yemen, Egypt, Iraq, Macedonia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Morocco, and India and was held through Zoom Cloud Meeting. The Judges are from three countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, and Turkey. IICYMS 2021 opens on July 1, 2021, followed by presentation of works on July 2-3, 2021 and closes with an awarding ceremony on July 4, 2021.

Three students majoring in chemistry education in collaboration with students majoring in english education, Yogyakarta State University, have participated in the IICYMS 2021 competition. Faiz Ilham Pratama (Chemical Education 2018), Dwi Nurul Fajriah (Chemistry 2019), and Fiyola Mayangsari (Kimia 2019), Fadila Nafiri Arif and Eka Nurrohmah R (English Education, 2019) proposed a work entitled Nano Biopesticide Formulation of Neem (Azadirachta indica) Leaf Extract as an Alternative Effort to Control Leaf Borer. Good news for the Department of Chemistry Education and the Department of English Education, their proposed work has won a silver medal in the environmental science category. Congratulations! Hopefully this good news will motivate students to realize their dreams, and play an active role in bringing about good changes for the environment and society.
