A total of 334 applicants from various institutions and occupations, such as teachers / lecturers, students and practitioners, actively participated in the Webinar Series # 1 organized by the Department of Chemistry Education, FMIPA, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Friday 2 October 2020, Webinar Series 1 with the theme "Research Methods in Chemistry Education" presented Prof. Dr. Muammer Calik (Trabzon University, Turkey) and Dr. Harry Firman (Indonesian Education University, Bandung).

Prof. Dr. Muammer Calik is a professor in the field of chemistry education with expertise on socioscientific issues, conceptual understanding, and conceptual change. In this webinar series # 1, he conveyed about systematic reviews in chemistry education, starting from how to find reference sources from various reliable data bases to how to write articles on these systematic reviews. Then, Dr. Harry Firman delivered about research and development in chemistry education which is a development research model in the field of education. Dr. Harry Firman delivered an outline of DDR research design which includes model development, model validation, and the use of models.
