Chemistry Education Department Meeting: Preparation for Even Semester 2021/2022

The Department of Chemistry Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, held the first department meeting in preparation for the even semester lecture period for the 2021/2022 academic year. The meeting was held online via Zoom Meeting and was attended by 33 lecturers of the Chemistry Education Department. As the closing of the odd semester 2021/2022 lecture period, the Head of the Department of Chemistry Education, Dr. Retno Arianingrum conveyed the results of e-monev lectures for odd semester 2021/2022 for all Chemistry Education Programs. The results of student assessments show that the lectures have been carried out in a very good category in all categories. The hope can be used as a basis so that it can be maintained. However, for Doctoral Degree of Chemistry Education, still needed to increase the participation from students to filling out e-monev form. Therefore, Dr. Retni appealed to all lecturers to complete the final grades for the student semester. This is something that must be considered because currently the academic system of UNY has been integrated with the PD-Dikti system of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

On this occasion, Dr. Retno conveyed several things. First, the Department of Chemistry Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNY has a new Coordinator of Masters and Doctoral Programs in Chemistry Education, namely, Prof. Dr. Eli Rohaeti. As for the implementation of even semester lectures, the implementation of laboratory work during the Covid-19 pandemic, lecturers who support laboratory work courses can prepare themselves to carry out practical work offline in the chemistry laboratory. The allowed capacity is 50%. All laboratory work courses are divided into three groups so that each group has 15 students. Additional information was conveyed by the Secretary of the Department of Chemistry Education, Erfan Priyambodo, M.Sc. Based on the MBKM curriculum, students complete theory courses in semester 6 so that Academic Supervisors are expected to be active to check the progress of student studies. The implementation of this meeting is expected to be a means of equalizing perceptions of the implementation of even semester 2021/2022 lectures.
