Perception-equalization Discussion for Thesis Final Project Supervisors and Examiner

The Chemistry Education Expertise Group (KBK), which is part of the Chemistry Education Study Program, held a perception-equalization discussion for supervisors and prospective Thesis Final Assignments (TAS) of Chemistry Education Study Program students’ year of 2018. All lecturers of the Chemistry Education Department participated in the activity which was held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. This activity was carried out as an effort to provide a reference for the implementation of research according to the characteristics of each research in order to complete the TAS of Chemistry Education Study Program students.

The scope of the discussion includes the minimum criteria in conducting experimental, survey, qualitative, development, and TAS proposal writing formats that are in accordance with the 2016 UNY TAS writing guidebook. In experimental research, for example, the supervisor is obliged to provide guidance for the minimum criteria for samples, variables, and data analysis technique. As for the lecturers who will become validators of experimental research instruments, they are lecturers appointed by the study program coordinator to provide input on instruments, such as learning implementation plans, student worksheets or teaching materials and research instruments. For development research supervisors, the criteria that must be considered are the development procedures chosen by students, validation instruments for at least 5 validators, so that descriptive statistical analysis can be carried out.

The discussion went smoothly, followed by a chemistry education study program and a chemistry study program lecturers. Through this perception equalization discussion, there is continuity with the TAS writing tutorial workshop for chemistry education students year of 2018. It is hoped that research and preparation of student thesis final project results can be carried out smoothly through proper guidance.
