Minute of Meeting Chemistry Education Department 2022

Friday, May 27, 2022, the Student Association of the Department of Chemistry Education held a dialogue activity in the Department of Chemistry Education. This activity is one of the work programs of the Social Department, Chemistry Student Association which is routinely carried out once a year. This year, 2022, dialogue was carried out virtually through the zoom meeting facility. As an opening, remarks were carried out by the Head of the Department of Chemistry Education Dr. Retno Arianingrum, M.Sc, and was officially opened by the Dean of FMIPA Prof. Dr. Ariswan, M.Sc.

In the dialogue activity, Chemistry Student Association submits the data from the collection of aspirations of students, lecturers, and education personnel, on the implementation of lectures and facilities of the Department of Chemistry Education FMIPA UNY. The data submitted by the implementing committee was obtained from the aspiration questionnaire of all participants. Participants can provide assessments, criticisms, and suggestions related to improvements that need to be improved. The subject matter discussed includes all matters relating to lecture activities, facilities, services, learning outcomes, the achievement of graduate competencies, and all things that support the progress of the Department of Chemistry Education UNY.

This year, there is one interesting thing that was done before the dialogue forum, namely the inauguration of the 2021 Student Coordinator by the Chairperson of the Student Association and the Head of the Department of Chemistry Education. As for several essential topics, namely 1) Readiness of the implementation of lectures offline, 2) Student Achievement of Student Competencies After this semester follows practicum in the laboratory, and 3) lecturer performance during online teaching, and student interactivity during lectures. Regarding laboratory skills, students have successfully carried out labwork well and enthusiastically. The performance of students during online activities is decreasing because they expects offline theoretical lectures. This is an indicator that the Department of Chemistry Education needs to design strategies for lecture theory offline so that students' competencies are more optimal.

In addition, remembering the S2 and S3 Study Program Chemistry Education has been under the Department of Chemistry Education FMIPA UNY, so that in search of aspirations and dialogues it has been involved in the 2022 major dialogue. The results of the meeting in this major dialogue, it is hoped that what is good can be maintained and improved, But if there is something that is not good, it can be improved comprehensively, so that it brings changes and progress in the Department of Chemistry Education.
